However\, higher yields should not decrease efficien t use of resources\, specifically fertilizers. Vincent’s research tests th e use of Ion-Selective Electrode probes capable of calculating amounts of a given nutrient. His findings will help create more efficient and less en vironmentally damaging hydroponic systems that can recapture and recircula te unused fertilizer.\n\nLEARN ABOUT:\n Plant chemistry\, ion probes\, hydr oponic farming & how to grow more with less!\n\nSupported by the Lister Fa mily Engaged Science Initiative\, the Lister Science Chats connects studen ts currently at home through live science talks with researchers from McGi ll's Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Each chat feature s a Macdonald Campus graduate student giving an engaging 30-minute English presentation on their research\, followed by a 15-minute question period. Although the targeted levels for these science chats are Secondary 4 & Se condary 5\, anyone with a passion for science is welcome to join.\n\nThe l ive chat will take place on ZOOM. No advance registration required. To att end the talk\, please visit /osas/cpd/listerengagedsc ience. A link will be made available shortly before the live event. You wi ll just need to click on the link to participate.\n\nFor any questions or further information\, please contact ingrid.chiraz [at] mcgill.ca (Ingrid Chiraz).\n DTSTART:20200421T150000Z DTEND:20200421T150000Z LOCATION:ZOOM seminar SUMMARY:Lister Science Live Chats: Hydroponics 2.0 for Farmers of Tomorrow URL:/macdonald/channels/event/lister-science-live-chat s-hydroponics-20-farmers-tomorrow-321410 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
