Gra duate and undergraduate students can benefit from these academic opportuni ties\, all of which are aimed at stimulating critical discussions about co ntemporary research and issues in the agriculture and environment\, to fos ter increased interactions among the Macdonald faculty\, and to highlight our ability to deliver outstanding scientific contributions.\n\nThis month 's speaker is Dr Elena Bennett\, Associate Professor\, Natural Resource Sc iences and 91ºÚÁÏÍø School of Environment\n\nEveryone is welcome to attend. \n\nABOUT THE SPEAKER:\n\nElena Bennett received her BA in Biology and Env ironmental Studies from Oberlin College in Ohio in 1994\, earned her MSc i n Land Resources in 1999 (U. Wisconsin) and her PhD in Limnology and Marin e Sciences in 2002 (U. Wisconsin). She is co-chair of the international Fu ture Earth core project ecoSERVICES\, which aims to set the research agend a for ecosystem services for the coming decade. Dr. Bennett was a Leopold Leadership Fellow (2012)\, and a Trottier Public Policy Professor (2013-20 14). At 91ºÚÁÏÍø\, she has won awards for undergraduate teaching\, graduate supervision\, and contributions to campus sustainability. Her Montérégie C onnection project won the Alice Johannsen prize for contribution to conser vation of the natural heritage of the Mont Saint Hilaire region. In 2012\, she was selected to be one of two representatives of the Royal Society of Canada at the Summer Davos meeting of the World Economic Forum held in Ti anjin\, China.
