RSVP is required.Please RSVP by March 19 to development.macdonald [at] m cgill.caFor information\, please contact Anna Duff  |  Phone: 514-398-7852   |  Email: anna.duff [at] mcgill.ca\n\n\nABOUT THE SPEAKER\nStephen Bronf man is a business executive\, devoted philanthropist\, and engaged citizen .\nMr. Bronfman is the Executive Chairman of Claridge\, a Montreal-based p rivate holding company founded in 1987\, where he has spent more than 20 y ears guiding the firm’s investment strategy and seeking out unique busines s opportunities both locally and globally.    \nCurrently\, as co-chair of the Claudine and Stephen Bronfman Family Foundation\, both Claudine and S tephen use their keen business sense and leadership to ensure that the Fou ndation optimizes its investment in its different projects and causes\, in cluding support for the arts\, the environment\, youth entrepreneurship an d the Jewish community locally and abroad. Mr. Bronfman is involved in the community\, and among his current engagements he is the president of the Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation\, and serves as a Director of several non-profit organizations including the Canadian Centre for Archit ecture \, B2ten and the organizing committee of the  2017 Celebrations of the 375th year of the founding of Montreal.\nAn avid organic farmer in the Laurentians\, Stephen Bronfman directed major renovations to his Montreal residence that was LEED certified - a first for Canada.  He has also enco uraged and led new and innovative actions in the environmental field. Amon g these\, the award winning C-Vert project has allowed more than 700 teena gers throughout Quebec to become environmental leaders in inner city neigh bourhoods\, while “Nature Days” celebrates urban biodiversity for all thro ughout Quebec.  The Foundation sponsored the Discovery Panels environmenta l education project on the Trans-Canada Trail.  In Israel his leadership h as led to projects protecting coral reefs and implementing a national bike trail as well as a water preservation project with Israeli and Palestinia n youth.  Stephen Bronfman has been a longtime board member of The David S uzuki Foundation where\, among other initiatives\, he spearheaded the clim ate action advocacy leading to Canada's signing on to the Kyoto accord.
