The work that has been carried out covers the design of an extraction system\, the establishment of the initial extraction conditions\, characterization of suitable solve nts for the extraction system\, process optimization and justification stu dy.\nIn evaluating the suitability of this technology for extraction\, a f ull laboratory scale RF heating system for nutraceutical extraction was co nceptualized and constructed. Special emphasis was given to the design of the applicator as this aspect significantly influenced the efficiency of h eat generation and distribution in the system.
