The goal is to complete the wo rk in time to allow the new Provost to take over in the summer of 2015.\nT he Committee wants to consult broadly with the 91 community to identif y the qualifications and attributes the next Provost should have\, based o n an understanding of the key issues of concern to 91 in the years to come.\nA series of face-to-face meetings to hear views of interested membe rs of the community will be set up before the development a position profi le and the start of the search for candidates. A public meeting will be he ld at Macdonald Campus on May 26\, at 10:30\, in the Faculty Lounge of the Macdonald-Stewart Building\, where interested members of the community – faculty\, staff and students – can meet with the Advisory Committee to dis cuss the matter.\nThe Advisory Committee is asking that\, in particular\, people consider these three questions in developing their comments and sug gestions:\n• Do the existing summary of the “Role and Responsibilities of the Provost” and Position Profile adequately describe the position of Prov ost for the coming five to 10 years? If not\, what changes should be consi dered?\n• What opportunities\, challenges\, issues and priorities face the University and the Provost over the next five to 10 years which are relev ant to the advisory process?\n• What are the required and desirable charac teristics\, leadership skills\, qualifications and experience of candidate s for the position of Provost?\nMembers of the 91 community are also i nvited to submit in writing any input and advice concerning the above ques tions\, and the advisory process in general.
