 can University.\n\nAbout the speaker\n\nProfessor Susan Franck is an exper
 t in the fields of international economic law\, dispute settlement\, and t
 he empirical analysis of international law. Professor Franck's legal exper
 ience includes serving at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Devel
 opment and practicing in international dispute settlement with Wilmer\, Cu
 tler & Pickering [now Wilmer Hale] in Washington\, DC and Allen & Overy in
  London\, England. She is qualified to practice law in England and Wales\,
  Minnesota and the District of Columbia. She is the Chair of the Academic 
 Council of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration\, a member of the E
 xecutive Committee of the American Society of International Law\, and a me
 mber of the American Law Institute.\n\nAbout the Brierley Lecture\n\nThis 
 lecture on arbitration commemorates the life and work of John E.C. Brierle
 y\, who was Professor and Dean of Law at 91ºÚÁÏÍø. He was a prominent figure
  in the discipline of comparative law internationally and the leading Cana
 dian expert on arbitration.\n\nThe John E.C. Brierley Memorial Lecture is 
 presented by 91ºÚÁÏÍø and its Research Team on Private Justice and the Rule 
 of Law\, with the participation of the Canadian Bar Association (Québec br
 anch) and the L. Yves Fortier Chair. It will be followed by an informal co
 cktail in the Atrium.\n\nAn application for 1 hour of continuing legal edu
 cation to members of the Quebec Bar and the Chambre des notaires is pendin
