 que accueille la professeure Dorothy Estrada-Tanck (Université de Murcie\,

 Protocole facultatif des Nations Unies se rapportant au Pacte internationa
 l relatif aux droits civils et politiques\, et de certaines violations de 
 ces droits.\n\n[En anglais seulement] This talk will focus particularly on
  the 2008 UN Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic\,
  Social and Cultural Rights\, and select case studies of individual commun
 ications presented to the competent UN Committee on violations of these ri
 ghts. By doing so\, the talk will also touch on how legal categories promo
 te/allow inclusion\, exclusion and vulnerability around different axis\, s
 uch as migratory status\, gender\, socio-economic condition\, and disabili
 ty\, and the ways in which the law may (or not) work in favour of the effe
 ctive realization of human rights\, equality and social justice.\n\nLa con
 férencière\n\n[En anglais seulement] Dorothy Estrada-Tanck is Assistant Pr
 ofessor (tenure-track) of International Law and International Relations at
  the University of Murcia\, Spain\, and co-Director of the Legal Clinic of
  its Faculty of Law. She holds a PhD in Law from the European University I
 nstitute\, an MSc in Political Theory from the London School of Economics 
 and Political Science\, and a law degree (Mexico City). She enjoys broad a
 cademic and professional experience in the United Nations\, State bodies a
 nd NGOs in Mexico\, Italy\, the US and Spain\, focusing on issues of human
  rights\, migration\, gender\, and socio-economic justice. She has publish
 ed extensively in English and Spanish\, and she is the author of Human Sec
 urity and Human Rights under International Law: The Protections Offered to
  Persons Confronting Structural Vulnerability (Oxford: Hart Publishing 201
 6)\, which received the Best Book Prize 2017 of the Inter-American Bar Ass
 ociation Washington\, D.C.\n
