Les participant.e.s peu vent se préparer en lisant le matériel.\n\nRésumé\n\n[En anglais seulement ] Our conversations will concentrate on analyzing what these new regimes l ook like\, how they exercise power\, what value conflicts have emerged\, a nd what law looks like in the midst of these radical shifts. How do econom ic resources and rights claims turn into legitimacy within law and materia l power? What are the techniques and purposes of boundaries – not just lit eral walls or borders\, but those of jurisdiction and legal categories? Wh at society is being imagined by the privatization of power transnationally ?\n\nWe will attempt to answer these questions\, and others that surface\, through a collective engagement with central texts by Horatia Muir Watt a nd Frances Olsen\, among others\, as well as two or three draft texts from participants.\n\nThis workshop will resist the temptation to allow discip lines and methodologies to cabin independent thought: our conversations wi ll cross disciplines (notably corporate law\, family law\, international p rivate law\, comparative law and others) and methodological approaches (cr itical theory\, economic analyses including Marxism\, pluralism and others ).\n\nExternal participants include Horatia Muir-Watt (Sciences Po)\, Kerr y Rittich (Toronto)\, Robert Wai (Osgoode Hall)\, Chantal Thomas (Cornell) \, Amy Cohen (Ohio State) and Will Moon (Maryland).\n\nLe déjeuner et des rafraîchissements seront servis. Day Hall\, CA\, QC\, Mo ntreal\, H3A 1W9\, 3644 rue Peel SUMMARY:Contests of Powers / Conflicts of Values: Law in a Transnational an d Transsystemic Society URL:/law/fr/channels/event/contests-powers-conflicts-v alues-law-transnational-and-transsystemic-society-290513 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
