 de la Couronne ainsi que sur la faillibilité des témoins oculaires. This t
 opic was chosen in keeping with our mandate to direct more efforts toward 
 the prevention of wrongful convictions with an emphasis on educating the p
 ublic about the causes of wrongful convictions and the ease with which the

 s Lockyer has been a criminal lawyer for 37 years. Since 1992\, the majori
 ty of his practice has involved unravelling wrongful convictions. Mr. Lock
 yer is a founding director of the Association in Defence of the Wrongly Co
 nvicted (AIDWYC)\, a Canada-wide organization that advocates for the wrong
 ly convicted.\n\n	Selwyn A. Pieters has appeared at all levels of courts\, 
 including the Supreme Court of Canada in Fraser v. Ontario and Quebec (Com
 mission des droits de la personne et des droits de la jeunesse) v. Bombard
 ier Inc. (2015). Prior to entering private practice\, Pieters was a Refuge
 e Protection Officer at the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.\n\n	Ev
 elyn Maeder is the Director of the Institute of Criminology and Criminal J
 ustice at Carleton University in Ottawa. Dr. Maeder’s work investigates th
 e influence of social psychological principles in legal decision-making.  
 Primarily\, she examines factors (both legal and extralegal) related to ju
