Biography: 

Dr. Raquel Aloyz is a scientist in the field of drug resistance in cancer. In the past few years she has focused her research on chronic lymphocytic leukemia and lymphoma using malignant lymphocytes donated by the patients treated at the haematology clinic at the Jewish General Hospital. The focus of her research aims to find targeted therapies to treat haematological malignancies using tyrosine kinase inhibitors.

Dr. Raquel Aloyz has been part of the 91ºÚÁÏÍø community since 1996 and joined the Lady Davis Institute (LDI) for Medical Research as a Principal Investigator in 2003. Dr. Aloyz holds a PhD in Biochemistry, works in the field of cancer research and is affiliated with the Departments of Medicine, Oncology and the Graduate Program in Clinical and Translational Research. Dr. Aloyz believes that collaborative work and multidisciplinary efforts are the cornerstones of scientific development. Beyond her passion for scientific research, Dr. Aloyz enjoys helping young scientists achieve their goals in her role as an academic advisor.
