Shifts in carbon flux dynamics \, water cycling\, and species composition are resulting in feedbacks with globally important consequences. However\, tropical forests are not a mon olith. They vary enormously in terms of species diversity\, climate\, soil s\, human interactions\, and much more. As a result\, tropical forest ecos ystems will almost certainly vary in their responses to global change. Yet \, these differences remain highly uncertain and poorly understood. I will describe several ways that remote sensing can address these knowledge gap s\, particularly when integrated with in situ observations\, local knowled ge\, and modeling.\n DTSTART:20250328T160000Z DTEND:20250328T170000Z LOCATION:Room 426\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Leveraging remote sensing to understand tropical ecosystems in a ch anging world (Elsa Ordway\, University of California\, Los Angeles) URL:/geography/channels/event/leveraging-remote-sensin g-understand-tropical-ecosystems-changing-world-elsa-ordway-university-362 377 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
