Khandideh Williams is a PhD candidate in the Department of Family Medicine at 91ºÚÁÏÍø, supervised by Professor, Alayne Adams, PhD,  Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Mabel Carabali, MD, PhD, Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, & Occupational Health. 

Her research was supported by a Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship-Master’s Award from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), a Doctoral Training Award from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Santé (FRQ-S) in partnership with the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research Support Unit in Québec, and a Doctoral Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), among others.

Topic: Ethno-racial equity in Canadian health care: A mixed-methods study of health care experiences across racialized groups in Canada, with a focus on the Black population.

Khandideh Williams

Committed to advancing health equity, her doctoral research applied both qualitative and quantitative methods to investigate intersectional racial disparities in Canadian health care, with a focus on the Black population. Overall, her findings indicate racial inequities in health care experiences that are influenced by intersecting sociodemographic factors, particularly immigration experience and sex assigned at birth or gender identity.
