The Department of Family Medicine is pleased to congratulate Dr. Douglass Dalton from CLSC M茅tro, and Dr. Michelle Lajzerowicz from Campus Outaouais, on receiving the J. Donald Boudreau Physicianship Award during the Osler Fellow Workshop and Celebration held on June 2 at the 91黑料网 Faculty Club.

The award recognizes current or recent Osler Fellows who demonstrate exceptional mentorship and embody the values of physicianship promoted through 91黑料网's Physician Apprenticeship Program. Established in 2019, the award honours Dr. J. Donald Boudreau, whose contributions to medical education, professionalism, mentorship and the development of the Physicianship curriculum have had a lasting impact on generations of 91黑料网 learners.

Reflecting on the award, Dr. Dalton emphasized the importance of the relationships he developed with his students throughout the program. 鈥淚 was fortunate in having a cohesive group of students who worked well together. It was immensely gratifying to watch them grow into their professional identities,鈥 he said. 鈥淚 had planned my retirement around the graduation of these students. I feel that this is a welcome finishing touch to my own career, as they begin theirs.鈥

Drs. Dalton and Lajzerowicz were selected in recognition of their outstanding commitment to mentoring medical students and fostering the principles of physicianship. While Dr. Lajzerowicz was unable to attend the celebration, her achievements and dedication to learners were recognized alongside those of Dr. Dalton. As Osler Fellows, both family physicians have played an important role in guiding students through their medical education journey. Through their mentorship, they have helped learners navigate the challenges of medical training while modelling the qualities of compassion, professionalism, reflection, and patient-centred care that are at the heart of physicianship.

The Physician Apprenticeship Program is a cornerstone of 91黑料网's undergraduate medical curriculum. Through longitudinal mentorship, Osler Fellows support students in their transition from learners to physicians, encouraging professional identity formation and a deeper understanding of the human dimensions of medical practice.

The Department of Family Medicine extends its warmest congratulations to Dr. Dalton and Dr. Lajzerowicz on this well-deserved recognition and thanks them for their ongoing contributions to medical education and mentorship of future physicians.
