MONA NE MER\, PhD\, C.M.\, C.Q.\, FRSC\,  Chief Science Advisor of Canada\n\nProf. Mona Nemer is an internationally acclaimed scientist and science policy l eader who has been serving as Canada’s Chief Science Advisor since Septemb er 2017. She has provided science advice on numerous issues ranging from r esearch infrastructure to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Nemer has promoted open and responsible use of science in government through the creation of a model policy on scientific integrity and a roadmap for open science.\n\n Prof. Nemer has served on various national and international advisory comm ittees and boards and is presently the Chair of the International Pandemic Preparedness Secretariat (IPPS) which promotes the 100 Days Mission for p andemic preparedness. Prof. Nemer has represented Canada in international science forums\, is a globally recognized champion of Canadian science\, a nd is the recipient of many national and international academic and civili an honours.\n\nPrior to this role\, Prof. Nemer was Professor and Vice-Pre sident of Research at the University of Ottawa and Director of the school’ s Molecular Genetics and Cardiac Regeneration Laboratory.\n\nProf. Nemer h olds a PhD in Chemistry from 91ºÚÁÏÍø and has done post-doctoral training in molecular biology at the Montréal Clinical Research Institute and Columbia University. La professeure Nemer a représenté le Canada dans des forums scienti fiques internationaux\, est une ardente porte-parole mondialement reconnue  de la science canadienne et elle a reçu de nombreuses distinctions univer sitaires et civiles nationales et internationales.\n\nAvant d’occuper ce p oste\, la professeure Nemer était professeure et vice-rectrice à la recher che à l’Université d’Ottawa\, ainsi que directrice du laboratoire de génét ique moléculaire et de régénération cardiaque de l’université.\n\nLa profe sseure Nemer détient un doctorat en chimie de l’Université 91ºÚÁÏÍø et a sui vi une formation postdoctorale en biologie moléculaire à l’Institut de rec herches cliniques de Montréal et à l’Université Columbia.
