In addition\, research has focused on the ro le of physical activity in improving coping with cancer treatment\, rehabi litation and survival after cancer. More recently\, research has focused o n the role of sedentary behaviour as a risk factor for both cancer inciden ce and survival. Evidence is accumulating that too much sitting is an inde pendent risk factor for cancer. In addition\, research is now examining th e underlying biologic mechanisms that might explain how physical activity and sedentary behaviour are related to both cancer risk and survival. OBJE CTIVES: At the end of this seminar\, participants will be able to: 1) unde rstand the level of evidence regarding the strength\, consistency\, cohere nce and close-response relation between physical activity\, sedentary beha viour and cancer risk and survival 2) understand the main biologic mechani sms that may be operative between physical activity and cancer risk and su rvival 3) understand the gaps in evidence and the areas for future researc h required in the association between physical activity\, sedentary behavi or and cancer risk and survival \n\nSEE PDF FOR DETAILS\n DTSTART:20170327T200000Z DTEND:20170327T210000Z SUMMARY:SEMINAR: Physical Activity\, Sedentary Behaviour and Cancer Control : Epidemiologic and Biologic Insights URL:/epi-biostat-occh/channels/event/seminar-physical- activity-sedentary-behaviour-and-cancer-control-epidemiologic-and-biologic -insights-266825 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
