 is a historian of food\, health and colonialism with a PhD from York Unive
 rsity in Toronto\, Ontario.  In 2013\, his article in the journal Social H
 istory\, on the history of nutrition research and human biomedical experim
 entation in Indigenous communities and residential schools during the 1940
 s and 1950s received widespread international media attention. Ian has wri
 tten on a wide variety of topics\, ranging from the history of nutrition e
 ducation and research in Canada\,  to the history of food\, colonialism an
 d government efforts to ‘modernize’ Indigenous diets in Canada during the 
 twentieth century.\n\nTruth\, Reconciliation and the Legacy\n\nof Hunger a
 nd Malnutrition in Residential Schools\n\nAbstract: Dr. Mosby will be disc
 ussing the legacy of hunger\, malnutrition & nutrition experimentation in 
 residential schools\, particularly as they relate to contemporary health p
