Four FRQSC New Academics Grants Awarded in the Faculty of Education

Four academics staff members in 91ºÚÁÏÍø's Faculty of Education have been awarded Research Support for New Academics (NP) Grants from the Fonds de recherche du Québec – Société et culture (FRQSC). This three-year program supports early-career researchers in establishing innovative and impactful research initiatives in the social sciences and humanities.

The recipients and their funded projects are:

  • Bruno da Costa, (Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education), À la découverte des modes de vie des adolescents : Une approche centrée sur la personne pour comprendre le bien-être au 21e siècle
  • Daniel Fortin-Guichard, (Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education), Classification empirique des biais ayant un impact sur l'identification du talent en sport
  • Nikki Lobczowski, (Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology), Profils socio-émotionnels : Accompagner les élèves dans l'apprentissage collaboratif
  • Valérie Théorêt, (Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology), Mieux comprendre les normes sociales liées au contrôle coercitif dans les relations amoureuses des jeunes


Together, these projects will address key issues such as youth well-being, talent identification in sport, and socio-emotional development in educational settings. The FRQSC New Academics Grants provide essential support, enabling recipients to build research teams and contribute to advancing knowledge in Quebec and beyond.
