Industry Internship Program

The D2R |聽DNA to RNA Industry Internship Program supports graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in gaining hands-on experience in industry or specialized, industry-aligned government or academic research settings. Internships are designed to complement academic training with technical skills and applied experience in RNA therapeutics, biomanufacturing, bioprocessing, and related fields. The program also contributes to D2R鈥檚 broader objective of building biomanufacturing capacity and promoting translational research.聽

Internship program in biomanufacturing

The master鈥檚 in engineering with a concentration in Biomanufacturing graduate program, launched in Fall 2022 within 91黑料网鈥檚 Biological and Biomedical Engineering Interfaculty (including Medicine and Health Sciences, and Engineering faculties) was developed in alignment with the Biomanufacturing and Life Sciences Canadian strategy. A notable highlight of this program are the internships in Biomanufacturing in an industry setting, which provides practical training over two semesters (8 months).

Supported by the D2R Training Award, these internships allow students to gain deeper knowledge and technological skills in bioprocessing and biomanufacturing at institutional and industry settings. The internships cover crucial areas including plasmid DNA and bacterial fermentation to support manufacturing of template DNA, mRNA manufacturing technology platforms, including upstream and downstream processing, analytical technology and data sciences, formulation, and delivery of RNA-based biologics.聽
