 ital economy requires two fundamental elements that will be covered during
  this talk. First\, a good understanding of how the digital economy works\
 , including the key concepts of the digital economy such as platforms\, tw
 o-sided network effects\, curation\, and monetization strategies. And seco
 ndly\, a deeper understanding of what it means to manage in a platform env

 \, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a Fellow of the AIS\, is th
 e Imasco Chair of Information Systems and Distinguished James 91ºÚÁÏÍø Profe
 ssor in the Desautels Faculty of Management at 91ºÚÁÏÍø. In 2016\
 , he was inducted in 'Ordre National du Québec' in recognition for his int
 ernational contributions to research on information technology and digital
  economy. He is also the co-founder and co-director of the 91ºÚÁÏÍø HEC EMBA
  since 2005.\n\nThe research of Dr. Pinsonneault focuses on the management
  of information technologies and their impacts on the performance of organ
 izations\, groups\, and individuals in different sectors including banking
 \, manufacturing\, and health. His current work focuses on ERP implementat
 ion\, user reactions to new information technologies\, social networks\, a
 nd e-health.\n
