 ck History Month\, the West-Can group has condensed a few elements of thei
 r larger workshop series into an exciting hour and a half experience where
  their experienced instructors will guide participants through the history
  of carnival\, the creative process of costume making and some of the rhyt
 hms\, techniques and movements which inspire the composition of soca and c
 alypso music.\n\nHave you ever wanted to craft your own carnival headpiece
 ? Now you have the chance! Participants will have the opportunity to creat
 e their own headpiece so advanced registration is required so the team kno
 ws how many items they need to prepare. Please register early as there wil
 l be limited spots!\n\nCome join us and become part of the “mass” movement
  that is carnival – a celebration of music\, creativity and community.\n\n
 About West-Can Folk Performing Group\n	West-Can Folk Performing Company has
  been in existence since 1978\, specializing in Caribbean folk dance\, dru
 m\, songs and storytelling. Their interactive and educational workshops ar
 e a blend of theory and practical\, and are designed to be both fun and en
 gaging. Through call and response and the exploration of the history of Ca
 ribbean dance and culture\, participants have the opportunity to learn abo
 ut and appreciate a culture that may be different from their own. West-Can
  has been showcasing and sharing Caribbean culture for over 40 years\, and
  their workshops are a great way to increase cultural understanding and re
 duce discrimination through the use of Caribbean folk arts. These workshop
 s provide a unique and memorable learning experience that all will surely
