We re quire an unprecedented form of radical renewal.” - Henry Mintzberg\, Rebal ancing Society\n \n According to Mintzberg\, radical renewal will have to be gin with the world’s largest sector of organizations (plural sector) inclu ding NGOs\, social initiatives\, healthcare\, secular and faith-based char ities\, amongst others.\n \n “Too many governments have been co-opted by the private sector. Corporate social responsibility can’t compensate for corp orate social irresponsibility.” 'They' won’t do it. We shall have to do it \, each of us and all of us\, not as passive 'human resources\,' but as re sourceful human beings.”\n\n\n And yet the major global environmental decis ions are being made by governments\, who are too often influenced by the p rivate sector\, and may or may not have the knowledge or capabilities to i mplement change. At the COP27 meetings in Egypt\, this past November\, whi le governmental negotiators reaffirmed the need to keep global warming wit hin the 1.5 Celsius limit\, they did not agree to pathways or means to ach ieve it.\n\nWhat is a goal without a strategy to achieve it? And this Dece mber's COP15 meetings on Biodiversity in Montreal\, governments from aroun d the world will come together to agree on a new set of goals to halt and reverse nature loss. What role should we as citizens and organizations pla y in all of this?\n DTSTART:20221208T173000Z DTEND:20221208T183000Z SUMMARY:IMPM Webinar: December 8\, 2022 URL:/desautels/channels/event/impm-webinar-december-8- 2022-343881 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
