 nts about values\, politics\, and cultural practices\, psychological scien
 tists have turned to possible antidotes to societal acrimony – the concept
  of intellectual humility Interest in wisdom has come from diverse researc
 h areas\, including leadership and organizational behavior\, personality s
 cience\, positive psychology\, judgment/decision-making\, education\, cult
 ure\, and intergroup and interpersonal relationships. I will critically ex
 amine the diverse approaches to defining and measuring it and describe wha
 t many scientists studying intellectual humility see as common across a my
 riad of definitions: meta-cognitive awareness of one’s fallibility and lim
 its of knowledge. After establishing common ground across definitions and 
 reviewing the validity of different measurement approaches\, I will highli
 ght research that explores the role of macro- and micro-level factors – fr
 om relationship security to interdependence in social coordination – for t
 hese characteristics. Furthermore\, I will review empirical evidence conce
 rning benefits and drawbacks of these characteristics for personal decisio
 n-making\, interpersonal relationships\, scientific enterprise\, and socie
 ty writ large.\n\n\nAbout the series\n\nThe Precision Convergence series i
 s launched to catalyze unique synergy between\, on the one hand\, novel pa
 rtnerships across sciences\, sectors and jurisdictions around targeted dom
 ains of real-world solutions\, and on the other hand\, a next generation c
 onvergence of AI with advanced research computing and other data and digit
 al architectures such as PSC’s Bridges-2\, and supporting data sharing fra
 meworks such as HuBMAP\, informing in a real time as possible the design\,
  deployment and monitoring of solutions for adaptive real-world behaviour 
 and context.\n\nThe Precision Convergence Webinar Series is co-hosted by T
 he 91ºÚÁÏÍø Centre for the Convergence of Health and Economics (MCCHE) at Mc
 Gill University and The Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center\, a joint computa
 tional research centre between Carnegie Mellon University and the Universi
