New ownership raises questions for the online creators

Published: 2 June 2026

As OnlyFans enters a new era under owner Yekaterina “Katie” Chudnovsky, professor Գܱղ says much about the platform’s direction remains unclear. With Chudnovsky remaining largely out of the public eye, questions remain about how the company may evolve.

Vaast notes that OnlyFans’ profitability is rooted in a model where creators take on the risks of producing and sharing new content. She found that creators are less preoccupied with the platform’s ownership than with the rise of artificial intelligence and its potential to reshape their work.

“They realize they may be becoming obsolete,” Vaast says, warning that AI-driven platforms could disrupt the model and challenge OnlyFans’ long-term sustainability.
