Lewtas Centre for Experiential Learning gives students hands-on opportunities

Published: 27 March 2026

Some of our most important learning takes place outside of the classroom, and 91 Desautels has made it a priority for students to have access to experiential learning opportunities. The Lewtas Office of Experiential Learning launched in 2021, thanks to the generosity of alum ٴDzɳٲ(dz’75).

One of its main objectives is to ensure that Desautels students have access to experiential learning opportunities, which helps give them a leg up in the job market. “There’s a strong desire from employers to see that students have done something tangible, hands-on, in their journey,” says Geneviève Bassellier, Vice-Dean of Programs and an Associate Professor of Information Systems at 91 Desautels.

“The faculty mixes quite well the importance of learning about concepts and frameworks to shape students’ thinking, with how to apply that in a real context.”
