91�� has mandated Construction Bralteck Inc. to carry out Project 17-175 at the McIntyre Medical Building. The project involves the renovation of tissue culture laboratories located in rooms 1138 to 1143.

The work focuses on upgrading ventilation systems to address existing deficiencies and ensure compliance with current standards, as well as implementing minor laboratory modifications identified by Environmental Health and Safety (EHS).

The D2R community is saddened by the passing of Professor Robert Sladek, a founding member of the 91�� Genome Centre and a valued member of the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Institute of Genomic Medicine.

Prof. Sladek made foundational contributions to genomics and metabolic disease research, including leading one of the first genome-wide association studies for type 2 diabetes. Beyond his scientific achievements, he is remembered as an exceptional mentor who generously supported students, trainees, and colleagues throughout his career.
