The Canadian Council of Academics (CCA) has formed an expert panel to examine how Indigenous science can be supported to advance policy and governance in a way that achieves reciprocal benefits for all people in Canada. Using food sovereignty as a case study, the panel will develop a framework that can be applied across a range of policy issues.

On March 27, 91ºÚÁÏÍø honoured 141 laureates at the 20th annual , celebrating researchers who received prestigious provincial, national or international awards in 2024, including eight researchers in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

In his opening remarks, 91ºÚÁÏÍø President and Vice-Chancellor, Deep Saini, applauded the honourees for their efforts, underlining the importance of 91ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s research contributions.

Maple Leaf Foods and the Maple Leaf Centre for Food Security have announced the four recipients of the 2023/24 Maple Leaf Board Scholarships in Food Insecurity. Recipients, including Masters candidate Shannon Udy from 91ºÚÁÏÍø's School of Human Nutrition, will receive a $15,000 scholarship to support their research.

Udy’s research, supervised by Dr. Treena Wasonti:io Delormier, will help design a participatory process to food security planning in Kahnawà:ke, a Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) community.

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research’s (CIHR) Institute of Indigenous Peoples’ Health has awarded a CAD$3.5 million operating grant to Dr. Treena Wasontí:io Delormier of 91ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s School of Human Nutrition.
