A recent article published by Business Because highlights many Canadian business schools, particularly the Desautels Faculty of Management, for their initiatives that support inclusive LGBTQ MBA programs.

MBA student Olivier Forgues leads this initiative at Desautels through the OUTlook on Business Club, which is committed to “bridging the gap between the professional world and academia through its strategic existence within the management faculty.”

At the 8th annual Catalyst Awards Gala, the 91 Office of Sustainability awarded students, staff, and faculty who have made meaningful and enduring contributions to the sustainability movement at 91.

The Emerald Key Award for student contributions to sustainability went to Amir Nosrat, a PhD student in the Desautels Faculty of Management, who is researching the impact of climate risks on business practices and businesses’ ability to access finance.

The Globe and Mail recently featured the research of Desautels Professors Emmanuelle Vaast and Liette Lapointe that explored the power of social media to propel meaningful social movements.

Using the 2010 BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico as a case study, they analyzed the surge of Tweets that followed to illustrate how social media can effectively rally individuals around a shared cause.
