Desautels alumni Jonnie Lawson (BCom鈥20) and Tristan Zeman (BCom鈥17) are hard at work to make sustainable, year-round produce accessible to Canadians through indoor vertical farms. Over the summer, their innovative hydroponic growing system won first place at the annual 91黑料网 Dobson Cup start-up competition. Canadian entrepreneur St茅phane Beaulieu (MBA鈥19) recently opened the eco-friendly Yuzkyu Resort near Mount Daigenta in Yuzawa, Japan. Beaulieu鈥檚 brainchild capitalizes on the surging popularity of 鈥済lamping鈥 by offering visitors the choice of geodesic dome tents, a larger luxury lodge, and an open space for setting up tents near the pristine rivers and lakes of the region. Undaunted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Beaulieu hopes to draw summer visitors to an area that has historically been a hotspot for winter sports.
