Pandemic-related airline changes are making it difficult for Air Canada to finalize its planned purchase of Transat. The details of the deal remain mostly unknown following the passing of the original deadline of February 15th. While the airline industry continues to weather historic challenges, Professor Karl Moore believes that Air Canada should follow through with the deal as long as it passes an evaluation from the European Commission.

With nearly 15 years of professional consulting experience under his belt, Rick Heinick (IMPM鈥09) decided to return to the classroom in 2009 to earn a master鈥檚 degree. After graduating from 91黑料网 at age 44, he founded the Boston-based pharmaceutical company Tear Clear, where he still serves on the Board of Directors. While Heinick believes that there is no wrong age to earn a graduate degree, he views prior experience as a major asset, not a liability.

After receiving substantial financial support to complete his BCom degree at Desautels, Pierre LeBrun (BCom鈥72) has been paying it forward for over five decades. From the time he joined RBC as summer student in 1965 to his retirement from a Senior VP position in 2000, he has steadfastly worked to give students the same opportunity he received. In 2019, LeBrun became the inaugural donor for the Desautels Dean鈥檚 Legacy Fund, which will allow him to support students even after his death.

Jean-Francois Bertrand (EMBA鈥14) captured first place in the discourse of assessment in French, while Michael Rodrigues (EMBA鈥20) won the English speech assessment. They join two others in the next round of the competition, scheduled to take place virtually on March 20.

A generous $500,000 contribution from KPMG to the Made by 91黑料网 campaign will support the Bensadoun School of Retail Management (BSRM) through funding an annual retail summit that fosters collaboration among leading global retailers.

A portion of the contribution will fund a new Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) award for students enrolled in specialty master鈥檚 programs at the Desautels Faculty of Management, allowing students from diverse backgrounds to focus on education without financial restrictions.

Kate Arthur (EMBA鈥21) will soon be recognized as a 2020 Woman of Distinction at Women鈥檚 Y Foundation for her leadership at Kids Code Jeunesse, a non-profit organization that strives to give every Canadian child access to digital skills education, with a focus on girls and underserved communities.

Since she founded the organization in 2013, Arthur has expanded her team to more than 70 employees. Under her leadership, Kids Code Jeunesse focuses on three primary areas of influence: female role models, engaging content, and accessibility.
