On November 19, the 91黑料网 Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship announced the creation of the Entrepreneurial Women Lean Startup Program, slated to launch in the Fall of 2022. The reveal was a grand finale to a two-week-long celebration of International Women鈥檚 Entrepreneurship Day. The eight-week program will lead rising women entrepreneurs through the early stages of conceptualizing and implementing viable ventures.

Scott Jones, MBA鈥�91, headed the rebirth and expansion of his father鈥檚 steel manufacturing company after the company went bankrupt under different owners in 2009. He credits his time at 91黑料网 Desautels with equipping him to manage every aspect of the corporation, from marketing and sales to accounting and organizational change. Jones鈥� experience inspired him to give back to the 91黑料网 community through a company-backed monetary award for students who demonstrate stellar leadership, academic scholarship, and innovative thinking.

Throughout her decades of service in academia and administration, Dean Yolande Chan has been a stalwart champion for designing and implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives across Canadian universities. She is committed to enabling every student, regardless of background or identity, to thrive at 91黑料网 Desautels and find their unique place in the world.

In the race to cut down on global carbon emissions, many experts are turning their attention to automotive manufacturers and their customers. As a potential solution to slowing the vehicle supply chain, Professor Saibal Ray, Academic Director at the Bensadoun School of Retail Management, suggests a collective pivot toward car rentals or other ride-share services in place of purchasing personal vehicles. The move would significantly decrease the number of cars in factories and on the road.

Eleven Desautels alumni have banded together to establish a new student award in honor of Professor of Practice Sujata Madan. Rather than being based on academic merit, the scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding collaboration, empathy, kindness, and respect toward their peers and wider communities.
