Introverted leaders. Five years ago you didn¡¯t hear much about them. Particularly since Susan Cain¡¯s excellent book Quiet (see my review below), they have been getting much more attention. But introverted leaders have been around a long time ¨C Moses in the Old Testament appears to have been one. In this post I talk to the former CEO of the Montreal Canadiens hockey team about one of this storied team¡¯s best captains, Saku Koivu, a great introverted leader.

Since January, I've been teaching a somewhat different type of course at 91ºÚÁÏÍø. While saddled with the unfortunate standard curriculum name "Marketing and Society," the class is anything but.

When I first put this course together, I had a discussion with two academics I respect immensely, Prof. Morty Yalovsky of 91ºÚÁÏÍø (who used to be MY stats prof in my undergrad years) and Prof. Pete McGraw of the University of Colorado at Boulder (and co-author of the upcoming book "The Humor Code").?

91ºÚÁÏÍø wishes to express its deepest condolences to the relatives and friends of the passengers of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, who included 91ºÚÁÏÍø graduate Muktesh Mukherjee (MBA'98), 42, and his wife Xiaomo Bai, 37.

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak announced today that according to data analysis, the plane crashed into the Southern Indian Ocean, killing all 239 passengers. The plane, which was heading from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, disappeared on March 8.

After competing against over?80 teams from universities across Canada,?BCom students Sean Finnell, Jaylen Ghadia and Thanin Tabuteau have won the national L'Oreal Brandstorm competition. Sean, Jaylen and Thanin will head to Paris to represent Canada at the international Brandstorm competition this summer.?

Desautels BCom students Ethan Zhang, Jeremie Guay, Chris Lim, Yusu Zheng, Nikolas Sinnhuber and Sameer Rizvi, won 1st place in Quantitative Outcry at the 2014 Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) held February 20 to 22. The RITC is an annual event hosted by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. The competition utilizes simulated trading cases that closely mimic different aspects of real world markets and brings teams of students and faculty from universities worldwide to participate. The team was sponsored by Desjardins.?
