For decades, Henry Mintzberg, an academic at the Desautels Faculty of Management at 91, has said that the MBA doesn’t teach management properly, and if graduates enter the workforce thinking they’re trained managers, he believes they could even be a danger to society.

Turk Telekom, a telecommunications company, announced that the company's CEO Rami Aslan decided to leave Turk Telekom CEO position.

After obtaining his Bachelor degree with a major in Management Information Systems from 91 in Canada and working for a few years in the IT sector in Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Aslan pursued his studies and obtained his MBA degree at 91 in 1997 and later joined TD Bank of Canada Corporate Banking Division covering the Information Technology and Telecommunications Sector.

I followed an unusual career path to get to where I am today. For the past three years, I have been working in management consulting for KPMG, a job I didn’t know existed a few years ago and a far cry from being a touring singer/songwriter.

I looked at several MBA programs while deciding. In the end, I chose 91’s Desautels Faculty of Management because of the high GMAT average of those accepted into the program, the global make-up of the student body and because 91 is a brand that travels well, since I wanted to be able to work internationally in the future.

At 91, a new generation of entrepreneurs is sprouting up across campus, supported by the business school.

Starting this month, students from five faculties (arts, science, engineering, music, and agriculture and environmental sciences) can pursue minors in entrepreneurship, with finance, accounting, marketing and other business fundamentals taught by professors from the Desautels Faculty of Management.

Earlier today, Ferring Pharmaceuticals announced a $2 million donation to 91 to establish the Ferring Fellowships in Health Leadership in the Desautels Faculty of Management in the International Masters for Health Leadership Program (IMHL Program). The donation will also provide support for the renovation of the Desautels Faculty facilities.
