Exam Period Access to Nahum Gelber Law Library for Fall 2018

From November 25 to December 21, 91黑料网 students will be able to access the聽Nahum Gelber Law Library聽24 hours a day, seven days a week. As agreed between the Students' Society of 91黑料网 (SSMU) and the Law Students Association (LSA), the Nahum Gelber Law Library will limit access to the three upper floors of the library to Law students only during the December 6 to December 20 examination period. 聽Details are as follows:

- Floors 3, 4 and 5 will be limited to Law students from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday during the two-week period.

Library Census Day November 19 | Head Counting Study November 26-29

On Monday, November 19, 2018, the 91黑料网 Library will conduct a one-day census to learn more about our users. This will help inform decisions about improvements to Library services and spaces.

During that day, Library and security staff will ask visitors entering Library spaces to scan their 91黑料网 ID cards. Those without a 91黑料网 ID card will be asked to select their status (e.g.听91黑料网 undergrad, staff聽member, general public, visiting scholar, etc.) on a paper form.

SSMU's Library Improvement Fund now accepting proposals

For over two decades, the Library Improvement Fund (LIF) has invested in the most important Library needs of the undergraduate student body in order to enrich the student academic experience. This fund is administered by the Students鈥� Society of 91黑料网 (SSMU) and is made up of a fee contribution of $8.50 per full-time student per semester, matched equally by alumni donors. The LIF goes towards 24hr library access, student employment, study spaces, Open Educational Resource Research, and a variety of other special projects.

Update #2: Osler Library of the History of Medicine

As a result of the water infiltration and recovery efforts related to McIntyre Medical Building聽fire incident聽in July, the Osler Library continues to be closed until further notice. The Osler recovery team has been focusing their efforts on restoring materials and making holdings from the Osler Library of the History of Medicine collection accessible to users.听

New! Short Term Lockers & Laptop Charging Stations courtesy of Arts Undergraduate Improvement Fund

Thanksgiving Monday closures - October 8, 2018

The Humanities and Social Sciences Library will be open for study from 8am聽to midnight but no services will be provided.

New Digital Collection | Horae: Collection of Books of Hours

features Books of Hours in both manuscript and printed form, spanning several centuries from Rare Books and Special Collections at the 91黑料网 Library. In the 1920s and 1930s, Gerhard R. Lomer, one of 91黑料网鈥檚 first librarians, launched an innovative project to create a small museum of the book inside the library open to the general public, to present a brief history of manuscript and printed books as well as the iconography through the centuries.

Update: Osler Library of the History of Medicine

As a result of the water infiltration and recovery efforts related to McIntyre Medical Building fire incident in July, the Osler Library continues to be closed until further notice. The Osler recovery team has been focusing their efforts on securing the contents of the Osler Library of the History of Medicine. All books, rare books, art, and artefacts from the Osler have been wrapped, packed, and removed so that a complete inspection of the Osler section of the building can begin.听

Head Librarian Daniel Boyer to receive Advocatus Emeritus distinction

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce that Daniel Boyer, Ad. E., Wainwright Librarian and Head of the Nahum Gelber Law Library, will receive the Advocatus Emeritus (Ad. E.) title from the Barreau du Qu茅bec in 2018.
