The Kahnawake Schools Diabetes Prevention Program (KSDPP) a 27 community based participatory research program is welcoming student volunteers interested to gain knowledge through experience volunteering with this diabetes prevention/ health promotion community program focused on school and community activities including physical activity, nutrition, curriculum development, research and evaluation, and planning with a dynamic integrated community-academic team. Work in person at Kahnawake Quebec and on-line, weekdays at various times.

On this day of Truth and Reconciliation, we reflect on the tragedies that occurred at the residential schools and we are reminded that every child matters. As the Dean of the Faculty of Education, I am averse to calling those institutions 鈥渟chools鈥. Schools are a place to advance learning, to open one鈥檚 mind to new ideas and diverse opinions; to mentor and collaborate with each child so they become the best they can be throughout their lives. Schools are where we better ourselves through insightful human relations, collaborations听and nurturing mentorships.

The We Will Walk Together / Sk脿tne Entewathah矛ta听event began at 91黑料网鈥檚 Faculty of Education in 2019, in honour of Orange Shirt Day. The initiative was driven by a small enthusiastic committee that organized听a march at Mount Royal to raise awareness and express sentiments of unity and inclusion between Indigenous peoples and non-Indigenous allies.

In July 2021, Tino Bordonaro (MA 鈥93), a Course Lecturer in the Department of Integrated Education (DISE), was appointed as the Chairperson of the Advisory Board for English Education (ABEE) at the Ministre de l'脡ducation du Qu茅bec (MEQ).

The mandate of the Advisory Board on English Education (ABEE) is to advise the Minister of Education on all matters affecting the educational services offered in English elementary and secondary schools and adult and vocational education centres. The Minister may also ask ABEE for advice on a specific issue.
