Congratulations to Dr. Ana Velly on her recent successes!
Dr. Velly was granted an NIDCR / NIH U19 Cooperative Agreement Grant for the project 鈥淎ssessing the management of temporomandibular muscle and joint disorders pain patients in the network 鈥� The National Dental Patient-based Research Network鈥�. Dr. Velly will be lead epidemiologist and co-investigator for the study. The grant is valued at $129 888 per year for 2 years.

The 91黑料网 Faculties of Medicine, Dentistry and Science are inviting applications for full-time tenure track positions at the level of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor.听There are five such positions available over the next 1-3 years. These positions are linked to the Canada Excellence Research Chair in Human Pain Genetics. The candidates will join a team of researchers in the Alan Edwards Centre for Research on Pain. The initial appointment is for three years, and this is renewable.听

Research on elderly rats suggests possible avenue for prevention of osteoporosis
Faleh Tamimi, is the leader of a research team that has just discovered that melatonin supplements make bones stronger in elderly rats and therefore, potentially, in elderly humans too. 鈥淥ld rats are tedious to work with because they get sick a lot and that means they also cost a lot more. But if you鈥檙e interested in diseases like osteoporosis, they鈥檙e an essential part of the process.鈥�
