 \nEducation is pending.\nAbout the speaker\nSince 1999\, Ms. Kinnear has b
 een General Counsel (Senior General\nCounsel from 2006) and Director Gener
 al of the Trade Law Bureau of\nCanada\, a joint legal unit of the Departme
 nts of Justice and of\nForeign Affairs and International Trade of Canada. 
 In that\ncapacity\, she has been responsible for the conduct of all\ninter
 national investment and trade litigation involving Canada.\nMs. Kinnear ha
 s also been responsible for the provision of\nadvice on international inve
 stment and trade questions as well as\nlegal support for investment and tr
 ade treaty negotiations and for\nthe implementation of such treaties. She 
 appeared as counsel before\ninternational investment tribunals\, participa
 ted in the negotiation\nof bilateral and multilateral investment and trade
  treaties and\nadvised on Canada's international investment and trade\nobl
 igations.\nIn November 2002\, Ms. Kinnear was also named Chair of the\nNeg
 otiating Group on Dispute Settlement for the Free Trade of the\nAmericas A
 greement. The Administrative Council of the International\nCentre for Sett
 lement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) elected Ms.\nMeg Kinnear as the new 
 Secretary-General of ICSID in 2009.\n
