From 1990-92\, she was Senior Legal Researcher for the\nCanadian Royal Commission on New Reproductive Technologies. In\n2002\ , she was appointed to the Ontario Advisory Committee on\nGenetics. In 200 9\, she was Scholar in Residence at the Law\nCommission of Ontario\, worki ng on their project on reforming the\nlaw as it relates to people with dis abilities.\nProfessor Mykitiuk is the author or co-author of a number of\n articles and book chapters investigating legal\, ethical and social\nimpli cations of new reproductive technologies and the new genetics\,\nand the l egal construction and regulation of embodiment and\ndisability. She holds a number of current research grants funded by\nSSHRC\, CIHR and Genome Can ada.\nJeff Nisker is Coordinator of Health\nEthics and Humanities and Prof essor of Obstetrics-Gynecology at\nthe Schulich School of Medicine & Denti stry\, University of\nWestern Ontario. He holds several national grants\nf or transdisciplinary research\, centering on public\nunderstanding and eng agement for health-policy development\,\nparticularly regarding emerging t echnologies. His educational\ninitiatives embrace the Humanities and Socia l Sciences\, such as in\nhis narrative 'bioethics and health ethics throug h film' courses.\nJeff has written many scientific articles and book chapt ers\, as\nwell as seven plays and several short stories that explore equit y\nin health issues and encourage compassion in healthcare. His plays\nhav e been performed throughout Canada\, and in the United States\,\nthe Unite d Kingdom\, Australia and South Africa.\nModerator:\nAbby Lippman is Profe ssor Emerita in\nthe Department of Epidemiology\, Biostatistics\, and Occu pational\nHealth at 91ºÚÁÏÍø. She was Chair of the 91ºÚÁÏÍø Senate \nSubcommittee on Women\, and is a women's health activist. She served\nas Chair of the Canadian Women's Health Network and is currently a\nBoard me mber of the Fédération du Quebec pour le planning\ndes naissances (FQPN). Her research\, much of which is done\nwith community-based groups\, focuse s on the politics of women's\nhealth and the development of policies relat ed to the regulation\nand application of biotechnology.
