As the leading figure in the Magical Realism mov ement\, he\nhelped establish Latin America's most important artistic movem ent\nof the twentieth century. He studied law in Mexico City and Geneva\, \nand in addition to his career as a literary giant\, he served in\nsevera l diplomatic positions\, including as Mexico's Ambassador to\nFrance. For more than fifty years\, Mr. Fuentes' works have\nchallenged the social bou ndaries of Latin American societies. His\ncommentary on justice has inspir ed millions around the world\, and\nhis books have been translated into do zens of languages. Mr.\nFuentes' personal history is nothing short of insp iring\, and will\nbe the basis for his lecture-how his knowledge of the la w has added\nto his world renowned social perspective and ability to speak to\nthe soul of his generation.\nAs an academic\, Mr. Fuentes has taught at many of the world's\npremiere universities: Harvard\, where he became t he first Robert F.\nKennedy Professor of Latin American Studies\, Columbia \, Cambridge\n(where he served as the Sim贸n Bol铆var Chair of Latin America n\nStudies)\, the University of Paris\, the University of Pennsylvania\,\n Princeton\, and Brown-where he currently holds the post of\nProfessor-at-L arge. In addition to his career as a novelist\, he\nwrites for El Pa铆s\, S pain's highest circulating non-sports daily\nnewspaper\, and the Reforma n ewspaper in Mexico City. His newest\nbook Destiny and Desire was released in early 2011.\nAbout the 91黑料网 Law Journal\nThe 91黑料网 Law Journal was f ounded in 1952 by students of the\nFaculty of Law of 91黑料网. Fr om its founding\, the Journal\nhas promoted the development of legal schol arship by appealing to\nan audience that includes professors of law\, prac ticing lawyers\,\nand law students. The Journal has consistently fostered a profound\nunderstanding of the common law and civil law legal traditions \nthrough the publication of cutting-edge articles.
