DESCRIPTION:At this lunchtime session Dr Wendy Thomson will present the wor
 k\nof the independent Commission to Promote Sustainable Child Welfare\,\no
 n which she serves as one of 3 Commissioners. With a commitment to\nmore i
 ntegrated community based services for children and families\,\nthe Commis
 sion has embarked on a 4 tiered strategy: 1) to\nreconfigure services\, 2)
  introduce a more equitable funding\napproach\, 3) develop a new accountab
 ility framework\, and 4) make\nimprovements to local services\, reducing a
 dministrative burden. In\nmoving forward on these issues\, Dr. Thomson wil
 l share the insights\ngained in the first year of the Commission’s work\, 
 and highlight\nthe need for information and research to be more available
