Polyphonic is the catchall\nof this fo rm of thinking\, which may be more accurately described in\nterms of ‘poly graphic’ in deference to Derrida and the tradition\ncritical of ontotheolo gy. Continental reflection is tropical in\nnature\, interrupting the tende ncy to straightjacket thought by the\notherwise excellent heritage of the Enlightenment. The desire to\nsiphon insight into manageable packets of in formation\,\npropositions\, is subverted in the name of historicality and \nfinitude. A polyphonic\, then\, is variegated\; it is\, discontinuous\, \ntoo\, in the sense not of being simply erratic but of marking a\nbreak w ith a tradition that desires diachrony\, continuity\, and\nunification.\n DTSTART:20101112T220000Z DTEND:20101114T000000Z LOCATION:Birks Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 2A7\, 3520 rue Universit y SUMMARY:Polyphonic: Thinking about the Divine URL:/channels/event/polyphonic-thinking-about-divine-1 69313 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
