 inesses and on the Web\, and\ninto the future on the Semantic Web\, humans
  organize information by\nlabelling subject matter using controlled lists 
 of concepts and\ntheir relations. Unfortunately\, many searchers do not un
 derstand\nhow information is organized leading to missed valuable informat
 ion\nbecause of unknown synonyms and too many irrelevant citations in\nthe
  results lists. My research attempts to address these problems\nthrough a 
 novel and ambitious approach: the design\, development and\ntesting of a k
 eyword searching subject browsing 3D interactive\ninterface to a real worl
 d collection organized via the highly\ncomplex Library of Congress Subject
  Headings (LCSH) structure.\n The presentation will demonstrate the protot
 ype application\,\ndescribe research questions and the design of a control
 led\ncomparative usability experiment. Preliminary results will be\ndiscus
 sed.\n--\nThe purpose of the SIS' Speaker Series is to give Ph.D. and\nmas
 ters students in the School of Information Studies a\nbehind-the-scenes gl
