 lobal Internet Governance Academic Network (GigaNet) invites\nyou to parti
 cipate in its third scholarly workshop to be held in\nMontreal (QC)\, Cana
 da\, on 30-31 May 2010. This workshop is\norganized in cooperation with th
 e Canadian Communication\nAssociation and Media@91ºÚÁÏÍø\, during the Canadi
 an Federation for\nthe Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS) 2010 Congres
 s week in\nMontreal.\n\nBuilding on the success of its first two editions\
 , respectively in\nParis\, France in June 2008 and in Brussels\, Belgium i
 n May 2009\,\nthe purpose of this third GigaNet workshop is twofold:\n\nTh
 e first day will be dedicated to outreach sessions aimed at\nincreasing th
 e interest in the Global Internet Governance field\namong both various aca
 demic disciplines and the civil society at\nlarge\, including but not limi
 ted to NGOs and civil society groups\nactive in related fields. These outr
 each sessions will include\nacademic tutorials on Global Internet Governan
 ce as well as\ninformation and discussion led by experts in the field on c
 urrent\nGlobal Internet Governance debates and their relevance to public\n
 policy making.\n\nDetailed information on the outreach sessions' program w
 ill be\ndistributed closer to the event itself.\nThe second day will featu
 re thematic presentations selected upon\nsubmissions made in response to t
 his call for contributions. We\ninvite scholars to present and discuss the
 ir work- in-progress in\nInternet Governance-related research\, with the a
 im to identify\nemerging research themes and design a research agenda. Rat
 her than\nfeaturing academic paper presentations\, the workshop aims at\np
 roviding a survey of current academic activities in the field\, in\norder 
 to share ideas and forge possible collaborations. Submissions\nare expecte
 d to focus on presenting problematics\, research designs\,\npreliminary em
 pirical results and conclusions in the aim of\nstimulating reflection and 
 discussion amongst the audience.\nSubmissions may address\, but are not li
 mited to\, the following\ntopics: involved actors and their interactions\;
  Internet governance\ninstitutions and regimes\; legal\, socio-economical\
 , behavioral and\ntechnical regulation means\; Internet governance policy
 \nissues.\n\nSubmissions in view of thematic presentations should be sent 
 by 20\nMarch 2010 to Meryem Marzouki (Meryem.Marzouki [at] lip6.fr). They
 \nshould be written in English and include the name\, affiliation\,\ne-mai
 l address and short bio of author(s)\, along with no more than\n500 words 
 of research work description. The program committee will\nnotify applicant
 s by 20 April 2010. To encourage knowledge\ndissemination\, relevant submi
 ssions will be published on the\nworkshop website.\nAuthors of selected su
 bmissions will be invited to present their\nwork in the workshop thematic
