 lin enables the body’s cells to absorb\nglucose and convert it to glycogen
 . Regular medicines for diabetes\nare mostly based on insulin derivatives.
  Some natural sources\n(plants) are also available which can add to the fu
 nction of\ninsulin without any reported side-effects. There are many herbs
 \nsuch as ginseng and bitter melon which have been used successfully\nin a
 ntidiabetic treatment. This seminar focuses on the use of such\nherbs and 
 plants as natural medicines to reduce many of the\ncomplications of diabet
