  Talk: On the shoulders of students: A bibliometric\nstudy of Ph.D. studen
 ts’ contributions to science\nGraduate students are an important part of t
 he academic\nworkforce. In Québec\, 11\,865 students were enrolled in Ph.D
 .\nprograms in 2005 and 1\,278 graduated the same year. Still\, little\nis
  known on their overall contribution to the advancement of\nknowledge. Thi
 s talk will present the reflexive process through\nwhich this ongoing doct
 oral research on PhD students' contribution\nto science was designed and c
 onducted\, as well as preliminary\nresults on the extent of this involveme
 nt.\n--\n\nThe purpose of the SIS' Speaker Series is to give Ph.D. and mas
 ters\nstudents in the School of Information Studies a behind-the-scenes\ng
 limpse at research and the research process. There are four\nspeakers in t
 he Fall term and another four speakers in the Winter\n2010 term. Students 
 and faculty from the Faculty of Education as\nwell as the wider 91ºÚÁÏÍø com
 munity are invited to attend.\n
