Born in\nWellington\, Ontario in 1856\, Casey Wo od was educated in Ottawa\, at\nBishop's and 91ºÚÁÏÍø Universities\, with fu rther studies in Berlin\,\nVienna\, Paris and London. He was a widely know n ophthalmologist\,\nornithologist\, prolific author\, translator\, editor \, bibliophile\,\nand traveller. The Library was fortunate to have this ma gnanimous\ndonor as a friend. Casey Wood maintained his ties to 91ºÚÁÏÍø and \nbestowed his magnificent collections on the University.
