 a.\n\nIn the past decade\, the importance of health care has been\nreflect
 ed in the tremendous number of commissions\, consultations\nand reports ge
 nerated to address problems in the system. The\nfederal government has rel
 eased at least four major health care\nreports\, and practically every pro
 vince has produced one as\nwell.\n\nFunding agreements between the federal
  and provincial governments\nhave seen major changes\, while two landmark 
 court decisions\, driven\nby litigations based on activism\, have foreshad
 owed significant\norganizational shifts. But what has actually changed in 
 the health\ncare system?\n\nAnd\, more importantly\, where are we headed i
 n the future? Dr.\nAntonia Maioni will address these and related concerns 
 during a\nlecture to Kingston alumni.\nDR. ANTONIA MAIONI is a multilingua
 l Montrealer who studied at\nUniversité Laval\, completed her master’s deg
 ree at Carleton\nUniversity’s Norman Paterson School of International Affa
 irs\, and\nearned a PhD at Northwestern University. On Canada Day in 2001\
 , she\nwas named director of the 91ºÚÁÏÍø Institute for the Study of Canada.
 \nA frequent and thoughtful media commentator on Canadian political\nissue
 s\, Dr. Maioni is the author of Parting at the Crossroads: The\nEmergence 
 of Health Insurance in the United States and\nCanada.\n\nABOUT THE VENUE: 
 The Renaissance Event Venue is located within\nKingston's oldest surviving
  church structure – originally built in\n1837 – at 285 Queen Street. While
  the Venue markets itself\nprimarily as a wedding location\, it is equally
  capable of rolling\nout our 91ºÚÁÏÍø red and white colours for this Univers
 ity\nevent.\n\nOn-site parking is available for 30 cars with adjacent stre
 et-side\nparking and several city parking lots nearby. The Venue is\nwheel
