 ic growth as an over-arching\nobjective of economic policy. The challenge 
 is based on a critical\nanalysis of the literature on environmental and re
 source limits to\ngrowth\, on the disconnect between higher incomes and ha
 ppiness\, and\non the failure of economic growth to meet other key economi
 c\,\nsocial and environmental policy objectives.\n \n
