 he Faculty of Education is pleased to announce its annual Award\nfor Disti
 nguished Teaching\, to be presented at the Spring 2009\nConvocation.\nPurp
 ose of the Award\n\nHonour excellence in teaching over a period of years\n
 Acknowledge distinguished teaching in all forms\, from large\nlectures\, s
 eminars and tutorials\, thesis and student teacher\nsupervision\nRecognize
  commitment to the development of excellence in\nteaching at 91ºÚÁÏÍø and be
 yond.\n\nEligibility\nThis award is open to all full-time academic staff i
 n the\nFaculty of Education.\nNomination Procedure\nIndividuals (students\
 , graduates or faculty members) wishing to\nmake a nomination (of self or 
 other) should do so by completing and\nsubmitting the attached nomination 
 form to the Chair/Director of\nhis/her Department/School by February 1\, 2
 009.\nThe award will recognize excellence in teaching in one or more\nof t
 he following areas:\n\nclassroom teaching\nmentoring and supervision (supe
 rvision of student teachers\,\ninternships and graduate students\, etc.) a
 nd\neducational leadership (work on curriculum projects\, innovative\ninst
 ructional development\, consultation with colleagues on\nteaching\, conduc
 ting seminars or workshops on teaching and learning\ntopics\, research/pub
 lications on teaching).\n\nDeadline\nThe completed nomination form must be
  submitted to the Chair of\nthe Department by February 1\, 2009.\nSelectio
 n Procedure\nThe department head will forward the nominations\, together w
 ith\nrecommendations\, to the Dean's Office by February 15\, 2009. The\nno
 minations will be reviewed by the Human Resources Management\n& Developmen
 t Committee. The name of the successful candidate\nwill be communicated to
  the Secretariat Office by March 31\,2009.\nThe award will be presented at
  the Spring Convocation.\n
