 da.\nThis presentation will describe that work\, related work before\nand 
 after\, and why one of the greatest physicists of all time never\nreceived
  a Nobel Prize in Physics. After all\, Rutherford later\nshowed that the a
 tom had a nuclear structure\, developed a detector\nto detect individual r
 adioactive decays\, was the first to split the\natom\, proposed that the n
 eutron had to exist\, and led the group who\nbuilt the first particle acce
 lerator to artificially induce a\nnuclear reaction.\nJohn Campbell\, the a
 uthor of Rutherford Scientist\nSupreme and www.rutherford.org.nz\, recentl
 y\nretired from teaching physics at the University of Canterbury\, New\nZe
 aland\, where Rutherford obtained his first three degrees. Dr.\nCampbell h
 as several awards for communicating science to the\npublic. His current pr
 oject is the first ever documentary on\nRutherford.\n
