 -winning actress Nicola Cavendish was born in Gloucestershire\nCounty\, En
 gland\, and raised in rural British Columbia. Growing up\nin such isolated
  settings may explain why she now spends all of her\ntime with fictional p
 eople. Nevertheless it’s turned out for the\nbest. Her work on stage and s
 creen has earned her five Jessie\nRichardson Awards\, two Dora Mavor Moore
  Awards\, a Genie Award\, a\nGemini-nomination and the Montreal English Cr
 itics Circle Award for\nBest Actress.\n\nTheatrical and literary greats su
 ch as Michel Tremblay\, Carol\nShields and the über-sexy Pierce Brosnan ha
 ve also fallen under the\nspell of her acting talents. She even worked wit
 h Tennessee\nWilliams in his last play 'The Red Devil Battery Sign'\, deve
 loping\nan overwhelming urge to collect glass figurines and scream\n'Stell
 a!' whenever she sees a streetcar.\n\nOther career highlights include four
  seasons at the Shaw Festival\,\neight months on Broadway alongside the le
 gendary Geraldine Page and\nBlythe Danner\, and one day performing at a ma
 ximum security prison\nin Matsqui\, B.C. The jury’s still out on where she
  faced the\ntoughest crowd. She is currently writing a new play called 'Un
 der\nMy Skin' about a 15-year-old girl confronting her mother’s death\nwit
 h the aid of her pet iguana Larry (Insert your own lizard joke\nhere). Bac
 k on the stage in 2009\, she will star in Montreal and\nToronto production
 s of the one-woman dramatic comedy 'Shirley\nValentine'.\nCost: $50 per pe
